“Climate Wàhàlà is geolocated multiplayer Augmented Reality (AR) game that encourages players to prevent carbon dioxide emissions from reaching a critical level within a set time frame. The game uses AR technology to scan and create a digital version of the user's surroundings, which can then be modified with virtual solutions to address climate change. Each player is given a randomly generated amount of capital, based on their current location's GDP per capita, to implement climate action solutions in their virtual environment. They can also choose to collaborate with other players, taking into account each player's capital, to implement these solutions. Possible solutions include planting and watering virtual trees to reduce carbon emissions, using renewables such as virtual solar panels and wind turbines, and promoting the use of energy-efficient light bulbs. The goal of the game is to provide an engaging and immersive way for players to learn about and collaborate to take action on climate change because in the end, we are all in this togethet”
